Dimes

1821     10¢     PCGS MS-65     $50,000.00 Sold
JR-2, R-7, Ex. Rare. By far the finest known of this extremely rare variety. This issue is considered by most specialists to be the toughest variety to locate in the Bust Dime series and is one of some 7 to 9 known to exist for this extremely rare variety. The present example is lustrous and attractively toned with light gold centers and some pretty blue toning around the periphery.

1827     10¢     NGC MS-63     $2,100.00 Sold
Toned in attractive shade of antique gray with some red and blue highlights. Although the obverse stars are not fully struck, this is an attractive example for a date or type set.

1843     10¢     NGC MS-65     $2,450.00 Sold
Greer-102. The final digit in the date is repunched. Flashy white and very well struck, there is a small granular area (as struck) on the lower reverse, just below DIME, possibly caused by die wear. The surfaces display pleasing satin luster, and there are few abrasions. Conditionally scarce in Mint State

1845-O     10¢     NGC XF-45     $1,650.00
Whispers of subtle luster remain at the margins of this lovely Choice XF example. This well struck O-mint coin shows light, even wear and layers of gold-orange and violet patina. This is an underrated issue in grades above VF!

1846     10¢     PCGS F-12     $1,450.00 Sold
A desirable low mintage date. Only 31,300 pieces were struck, less than half that of the better known 1844 rarity. Very difficult to locate in problem free collector's grade like the present example. Looks better than its stated grade and others may call it "VF." Light to medium gray and brown toning highlights this attractive piece.

1871-CC     10¢     NGC MS-61     $69,000.00
One of the finest known of this very rare key date. Above average strike with some very light gray toning. Some minor friction on the obverse accounts for the grade.

1873-CC Arrows     10¢     NGC AU-55     $46,000.00
Very rare key date with light olive brown and gold toning. Decent strike and surfaces for the grade.

1873-CC Arrows     10¢     NCS XF Details     $16,500.00
A low priced alternative for this rare key date.
